The HG-10 combines a patented ground microphone design with a light-weight amplifier that has selectable filters.

The patented ground microphone is the most sensitive, well-engineered leak sensor available. With the six selectable filters in the HG-10's amplifier, the user can choose the right combination of low-end filtering and high-end filtering to remove the extraneous noises of heavy equipment, traffic, wind, etc. that may be present at the job site.

Depress the switch for the 100Hz filter and eliminate all unwanted noise from 100Hz and lower frequencies.

Depress the switch for the 1200Hz filter and eliminate all unwanted noise from 1200Hz and higher frequencies.

Listen to leaks in PVC pipe in the range of 200 to 600Hz, filtering out all higher and lower frequencies, and then listen to leaks in cast iron pipe in the range of 400 to 1200Hz, filtering out all higher and lower frequencies again.
