SPECIFICATION
The ROLLERCOMP provides a pneumatically powered means of compacting slabs of asphaltic material in the laboratory under conditions which simulate in situ compaction.
Different levels of vertical force can be selected up to approximately 30kN As the width of the roller is 30Omm, the compactive effort of the largest static site roller can be reproduced.
ROLLERCOMP slabs can be used for wheel tracking, cut into test beams or cored to provide specimens for indirect tensile and axial load permanent deformation tests.
The ROLLERCOMP is used by Universities, Oil companies, Consulting Engineers, Contractors and County Highway Laboratories.
Slabs produced with the ROLLERCOMP measure 305mm by 305mm and from 50mm to 10Omm thick. If other sizes are required, please enquire.
The precise depth of a slab can be pre-set enabling the user to compact a certain mass of material to a selected volume thus providing a target mix density.
The ROLLERCOMP is controlled by a sophisticated PLC(Programmable logic Controller). It is used to set the number of passes and compaction load level. The PLC also monitors the safety system. The PLC can be set for any number of passes between 1 and 1000. The trolley will always finish it's motion at the point of travel nearest to the access door. This is to make removal of moulds as easy as possible for the operator.
The ROLLERCOMP is contained within a safety enclosure with mesh panels and doors. Cut-out switches are used to ensure that the ROLLERCOMP cannot be operated unless the doors are closed. The ROLLERCOMP can be stopped by using an Emergency Stop button. When this is pressed, or the safety enclosure doors opened the air pressure will be dumped, causing the trolley and ram to stop moving. After use the emergency stop button must to be pulled out and the machine reset before the ROLLERCOMP will operate again.
The ROLLERCOMP requires:
a supply of clean and dry air at 7bar and 6cfm(min).
a standard 240V supply
The dimensions of the ROLLERCOMP are 200Omm high *1890mm wide *560mm deep
It weighs approximately 0.5 tons
